You want to earn more money from your sewing, but you don’t know where to start?

️ You don’t know what to charge

️ You worry people won’t pay your rates

️ You keep comparing yourself to other sewists

The Sewing Biz Pricing Toolkit

This pricing toolkit contains everything you need to get your handmade products priced properly so you can earn money from your talents and skills.

The toolkit includes an online course, instructional videos, workbooks, access to my private Facebook group and a spreadsheet calculator that you can use to cost out each product you make.

You will learn, step by step, what you need to do to ensure you are covering all of your business costs, paying yourself a fair wage and helping your business grow.

It’s a huge problem for so many sewing biz owners.

It’s a creative outlet that people enjoy, so there will always be people who either undercharge or don’t even charge at all! People who say things like ‘it’s just for fun’ or ‘it’s just a side line’, and they completely undervalue their worth.

But you don’t have to be one of them.

And you don’t have to compete with their profit-less pricing!

You can charge a rate that covers all of your business costs, and your time – not just the cost of materials.

If you don’t charge what you are worth, all you are doing is subsidising your hobby. But if you want to create a business from your sewing, you need to take your pricing seriously.

Inside the toolkit training library you have seven modules (plus two bonus modules) to guide you step-by-step through working out your product costs and calculating your pricing.

The 7 Modules

Getting Started

Once inside the course you will find modules covering all aspects of how to price your products plus related content that could impact your pricing.

What should I include in my costs?

We start the course by getting you to look at the cost of running your business. Lots of small business owners overlook some of their business costs and so it’s important to get it right from the beginning. They are separated into two main categories – the cost of producing your products and the cost of running your business.

How to Find Your Hourly Rate

Once we know how much it costs you to run your business we can start to work out what your hourly rate needs to be.

How to invoice your customers and take payment

We look at how to invoice your customers and how much information to give them if you are breaking it down. By examining the pros and cons of different pricing options, you can decide what is most suitable for your business.

 Customer Relations

Some customers like to know everything there is to know and some just want a product at the price they have agreed and aren’t really interested in how you make that happen. Learning how to engage with different customer types is a skill in itself. In this module we look at customer relations and how to keep them coming back for more.

 Using the Pricing Calculator (spreadsheet)

The easiest way to calculate the true cost of a product, ie. not just the cost of materials, is to use a spreadsheet. I have designed a spreadsheet specifically for people who sew. There is a video where I walk you through the whole process from start to finish.

Bonus Modules:

There are two bonus lessons in addition to the main course. Both will help you keep your business running smoothly.

Bonus 1: to discount or not to discount

In the first bonus lesson we look at things your customers might say regarding your quote and how to handle the situation. Feeling confident about your pricing is key to handling any potential objections and reassuring your customers that what they are getting is good value.

Bonus 2: Keeping track of your orders

Now you’ve got all these orders coming in you’re going to need a way of organising your business so you don’t get swamped in admin jobs. I’ll show you methods I have used that you can implement into your business to make your life easier.

You will have access to the course and its content for life including all revisions and updates.*

“If you don’t charge your worth, all you are doing is subsidising your hobby.”

By the end of this course you will know:

️ What costs to include - So you know you are getting an accurate view of what it costs to make each product.

️ How to find your hourly rate - And why you are justified in charging that much.

️ What information to share - And why it’s important to hold some info back from your customers.

️ How to handle customer objections - So you can feel confident about telling people how much you charge.

️ How to keep track of all your orders - So you don’t run the risk of missing anything out and making a mistake.

️ How to use the pricing calculator - To get accurate, fast results for all of your handmade products.

But above all else…

The Sewing Biz Pricing Toolkit will ensure that by the time you complete the course you will know if your current prices are covering all of your costs, and if not, what you can do about it.

Facebook Group:

As a Pink Giraffe client you will have access to my private Facebook group ‘The Pink Giraffe Club’ where you can chat with other people who have taken the course and ask me any questions you may have about what you have learned.

As a dance costume designer and maker I have several years of experience in the costume making industry. Specialising in competitive pole dance costumes, I have also worked with burlesque performers and aerial artists and have two brand ambassadors who compete at a high level in the UK.

I didn’t start out to try and build a costume making business. I already had a sewing business making kids and adult clothing, but a friend asked me to make a dance costume for her daughter.

I used to design my own dance costumes when I was younger and, so I jumped at the chance to have a go at making one myself. That ‘one’ costume turned in to several more costumes and then other people saw them and started asking if I would make their costumes too.

Luckily I already had a business set up and was able to incorporate my new venture into an existing company. This isn’t usually the case though and so I hope that this course will bridge the gap for you if you’re wanting to go from making costumes for family and friends, to running a small business and earning a profit from enjoying the work you do everyday.

Testimonials from previous clients who have worked with me on their pricing strategies.

The pricing calculator has given me the confidence to set realistic prices which allow a profit margin. I found it to be a valuable resource which added to my knowledge base. I recommend the Pricing Toolkit to anyone wanting to set up a sewing business.

Alison Costume designer and maker at Alyz Costumes

Nicky has helped me believe in myself more. The pricing toolkit has helped me see my worth and realise when I’m being too nice when pricing my costumes. Before taking the Pricing Course I found it hard to workout the costs and I would miss some expenses. Since using the pricing calculator in the toolkit I’ve been able to work out prices quickly and easily.

Debbie Costume designer and maker at Zac & You

Best course ever! I went from charging approximately €250 for most of my dresses to nearly doubling the average price and have been able to keep my old customers as well as take on new ones.
